The Charlton Down Website will be undergoing changes from the 1st October. Due to the ever increasing amount of activities at the hall, we will be creating a new dedicated website for the Village Hall and the people and groups who use it. Charlton Down village is in the Parish of Charminster, just a few miles north of Dorchester, the county town of Dorset. The village is home to nearly 1400 residents and is still a relatively new. Tuesday - Brownies, Table Tennis. Wednesday - Jelly Tots, W.I. (Monthly). Thursday - Yoga, Ballroom Dancing lessons. Friday - Pilates, Weight Watchers, Ballroom dancing. The Dorset Youth Orchestra - Saturday 30th July Director - Walter Brewster Conductor - Mark Forkgen Solo Piano – Richard Keohane. The evening started with Vaughan Williams Symphony No. 2 ‘A London Symphony’. Then with Richard Keohane playing the magnificent Steinberg ‘Hamburg’ full size grand piano the audience were treated to Sergei Rachmanoinov’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in C Minor, Op 18 whom many associate with the celebrated film ‘Brief Encounter’.
